Before taking the HP0-A03 : HP-UX 11 to 11i v3 Differences exam, participants are required to have earned a current CSE certification in a previous version of HP-UX. Candidates are also expected to have at least two years of hands-on experience with HP-UX prior to taking the exam. Although not required, candidates are strongly encouraged to complete the following Instructor-Led training course prior to taking the exam: New features and functions of HP-UX 11i v3.
The HP0-A03 exam contains 66 questions, and these questions are multiple choice, graphical, and drag and drop. Participants will have 90 minutes to complete the questions. A score of at least 70% is required in order to pass the HP0-A03 exam.
Thirty-one percent of the exam covers HP-UX architecture and foundational technologies. In order to pass this section of the exam, candidates will need to demonstrate an understanding of HP-UX processor families, the major hardware components found in HP's current systems, the UNIX file system, basic LVM concepts, virtualization technologies, Mass Storage Stack, and Serviceguard Storage Management Suite.
An additional 21% of the exam will test a candidate's knowledge of HP-UX Command Line and GUI Tools. These questions will include concepts relating to boot, reboot, and shutdown of an HP-UX system or partition. Additionally, candidates must be familiar with Web-Based Enterprise Management and HP Systems Insight Manager. Other concepts on the exam include HP-UX system network administration, HP-UX installation and upgrading, HP-UX recovery, and HP-UX security administration.
