The 9E0-431 Cisco Voice Over IP exam has been retired. Candidates were encouraged to complete the Cisco Voice Over IP (CVOICE) training course prior to taking the exam. This course was available through Cisco Learning Partners, who are the only source for authorized access to Certified Cisco Instructors. Other exam preparation tools for the 9E0-431 exam include Cisco Press Self Study titles, which are available through Cisco Press and Cisco Marketplace. Other sellers of technical books may also carry the Cisco Press Self Study titles.
During the exam, candidates were tested on their understanding of scalable number and applications. Candidates also had to demonstrate that they could improve and maintain voice quality. Voice over IP signaling, call control, VOIP protocol stack, dial peer CODEC parameters, voice interfaces, analog voice connections, and digital voice connections were among the topics included on the 9E0-431 exam. Each exam took 90 minutes to complete.
